Recipe for Simple and Quick Guacamole


This recipe will make sufficient guacamole for two persons, but you can very easily double or triple it.

So, what ingredients do you need:


1 avocado, 1 really little red onion, 1 lemon juice (you may squeeze a lemon or just purchase lemon juice in the retailer), salt, black pepper,


and also a blender.


That's it.


Instructions


1. This is what you need. Use a little onion or guacamole will be too strong. You could nevertheless add some later, just don't start with too much. Needless to say you could work with a bigger onion and chop it in half :). You may also use the usual white onion but I've discovered that red ones work better.


2. First peel the onion and cut it in a couple of big pieces so it fits into the blender. Now put 2/3 of the onion you're going to use into the blender and keep the remaining 1/3 for later.


3. Now for the avocado. First slice the avocado in two. Don't cut the seed, just make an incision about the avocado. Then seize each half with one hand and twist. One half should really nicely separate from the seed.


4. Now take a spoon and take away the avocado meat from its skin.


5. Put the avocado in to the blender together with the onion.


6. Mix till you get a good and even texture.


7. Now take the rest of the red onion (the 1/3 from the beginning) and slice it into tiny pieces making use of a knife. What's the point of this? I like the flavor of the onion to equally merge into the guacamole - this can be accomplished by blending onion and avocado together in a blender. But I also like the little onion bits in the guacamole. these pieces give better texture to the guacamole, make it a little chunky and it appear a lot more home-made :). In actual fact - you may do the same with avocado. Mix 2/3 of it and just smash the remaining 1/3 into the guacamole with a fork. 9. Now take a fork and combine your guacamole until the chopped red onions are evenly distributed through the guacamole and lemon juice has disappeared into the mixture making guacamole a little bit smoother and less dense.

Yummy Gluten Free Bread Recipe for Bread Machines


Simple bread machine recipes are a boon for all bread-lovers. A bread maker has the most simple steps to follow and is extremely easy to maintain. It removes the hassle of kneading the dough and thinking about whether I did it the right way. I also save a substantial amount of time if I use the bread machine. I find the bread machine bread has a much better and finer texture than the hand-kneaded bread I make. Below is a straightforward rye bread recipe bread machine that everybody in my family loves.

What you'll need:


- Water - One (1) cup + 3 tablespoons


- Olive oil - Two (2) tablespoons


- Vinegar - 2 tablespoons


- Ground flaxseed powder - 2 tablespoons


- Basil - One and a half tablespoons


- Oat flour - 1/2 cup


- Spelt flour - One and a half cups


- Rye flour - 2 cups


- Vital wheat gluten - Two tablespoons


- Active dry yeast - Two (2) tablespoons


- Salt - One teaspoon


Method:


- Instead of using store-bought oat flour, I like to make fresh oat flour. You can make oat flour at home by grinding rolled oats in a mixer.


- Clean out the bread pan and kneading blade.


- Ensure that the pan is dry before adding the ingredients.


- Pour the water in the pan.


- Next add the vinegar and olive oil.


- Sprinkle the flaxseed powder and basil over the top.


- Carefully add the flours over the liquids so that they cover the liquids.


- Add the salt.


- The final and most critical step of making bread in the bread baking machine is adding the yeast. The yeast must be added carefully so that it doesn't come in touch with the liquids in any way.


- Place the lid on the bread pan.


- Set the bread maker to run on basic cycle.


- Once the cycle is done, allow the bread to cool in the pan for about five (5) minutes.


- Take the bread out of the pan and cut in slices to serve.


- If the bread seems to be too soft you can bake it in the oven for a further ten (10) minutes at 350F for a crusty loaf.


Creamy Swiss cheese spread with the bread makes an enjoyable dip.


What you'll need:


- Cream cheese - 300 grams


- Milk - Two tablespoons


- Swiss cheese, finely shredded - Half a cup


- Fresh chives (chopped) - One tablespoon


Method:


- Combine the cream cheese and milk till smooth.


- Whisk in the Swiss cheese and fresh chives.


You can store this dip in the refrigerator for a couple of days.


The bread can be eaten as it is, but if you toast it and spread a layer of marmalade or jam over the bread before eating you'll enjoy it more.

What are Wheat Berries?


Wheat berries: Not a berry at all.

A serving (about a half cup, prepared) provides 6.5 grams of protein, 6 grams of dietary fiber, and vitamins B1, B3, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, manganese and selenium.

Wheat berries can be eaten with milk and honey as a breakfast cereal, for lunch as part of a cold salad, or for dinner in a chili. I recently used them to make a vegetarian chili. This is a simple way to add more to a vegan chili than masses of beans. I made mine with wheat berries, canned tomatoes, fresh onion and peppers, black beans, pinto beans, and all your normal spices. The mix of wheat berries and beans gives your vegan chili far more protein and vitamins.

Sweet potato pie is to the Southerner what pumpkin pie is to the Thanksgiving lover. The history of this sweet dessert goes way back to the time of African slaves, early Europeans and the early Southern and New England settlers. Sweet Potato Pie is similar to Pumpkin Pie except that it is creamier, silkier and tastier. Once individuals discovered this to be so, Sweet Potato Pie took on steam, became much more preferred than pumpkin in the south and has remained a mainstay in the holiday season.

Sweet Potato Pie comes in a lot of versions and the recipe has generally been handed down from one generation to another. Usually, the recipes are not even on paper but, rather, in the memories of grandmas, mothers and daughters. A Nutritious and Enjoyable Way to Eat Carrots


Boiled carrots are a common part of many vegetable dishes, although not all kids enjoy eating them. It is easy to turn fresh carrots into a delicious carrot cake recipe that may be eaten as a serving of vegetables. The homemade carrot cake recipe provided below will make you the star cook of the day.

What you'll need:


- All-purpose flour - Two (2) cups


- Ground cinnamon - 2 teaspoons


- Ground all spice - Half (1/2) teaspoon


- Ground nutmeg - Quarter of a teaspoon


- Ground cloves - Quarter (1/4) teaspoon


- Sodium bicarbonate - Two teaspoons


- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon


- Large eggs - Three (3)


- Coarse-grained sugar - 1 1/2 cups


- Brown sugar - Half (1/2) cup


- Vegetable oil - One (1) cup


- Sour milk - 1/2 cup


- Grated carrots - Two (2) cups


- Fresh and crushed pineapple - One and a half cups


- Coconut (grated) - 1 cup


- Crushed nuts (of your choice) - One (1) cup


- Oil and a little flour for greasing the cake pan




Method:


- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.


- Grease and flour a 10 inch round cake baking pan.


- In a bowl, sift the flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, all spice, baking soda and salt. Take care to avoid any lumps.


- Add the grated coconut to the mix.


- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, oil, coarse-grained sugar and brown sugar till the sugar begins to dissolve.


- Add the sour milk and crushed pineapple to the egg mix and mix well.


- Add the dry mixture to the wet mix and stir all the ingredients together well. Make sure that you scrape the sides of the bowl to get all the ingredients.


- Carefully fold the grated carrots into the mix.


- Then add the nuts and mix once.


- Pour the finished batter in the greased cake baking pan and smooth the top.


- Bake in the preheated oven for sixty (60) minutes or until a thin skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.


- Let the cake cool in the pan for approximately ten (10) minutes.


- Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack before serving or applying icing.


Note: You can replace all-purpose flour with a blend of one cup of whole wheat flour and one (1) cup of all-purpose flour.


This cake can be stored for up to two weeks in the refrigerator in an air-tight container.


Serving suggestions:


- The cake can be served immediately out of the oven.


- Plain cream cheese frosting dusted with a little maple sugar makes a great topping for the cake.


- You may also sprinkle some roasted coconut pieces on the topping.


- Crushed walnuts and shredded dates also make a nice garnish for home made carrot cakes.


- Butter cream frosting and maple frosting make a nice alternative to plain cream cheese.


- Make sure that you let the cake chill in the refrigerator before you serve it (when using topping).
